The three primary bodies in the York Rite are the Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Council of Royal & Select Master or Council of Cryptic Masons, and the Commandery of Knights Templar. The York Rite is one of many appendant bodies that a Master Mason can join to further his knowledge of the craft.
The York Rite is not defined by one system worldwide. There are major differences in ritual, organization, regulation, and regalia. That's why on the website we separated the American York Rite from the English York Rite. We placed the American York Rite on this page and you can find the English York Rite here.
