Knights Templar is the Commandery body of the York Rite, and its members are known as Sir Knights. Membership is generally open to Master Masons who profess the Christian faith, with further York Rite prerequisites that vary by jurisdiction (see our Chapter and Council regalia for the earlier York Rite bodies). What a Sir Knight wears depends on his Commandery, his office, and his Grand Commandery's uniform and regalia rules. This collection covers the core regalia, accessories and cases, everyday apparel, jewelry, and gifts carrying Templar symbolism, organized below so you can choose by your actual role and jurisdiction.

Core Regalia

Knights Templar regalia is tied to office and jurisdiction, so the right pieces depend on where you serve. Examples of what we sell include a Knights Templar apron with silver bullion embroidery, crown caps, a black wool fez hat (with a rhinestones option), a Line Officer chapeau with all white plumes, a silver Sir Knight fatigue cap, a gold plated chain collar, sashes, and mantles and tunics listed as English Regulation (such as a white mantle with a maroon cross). Details like plume colors, headwear, and collar or sash styles can differ between Grand Commanderies and between the U.S. and English systems, so confirm what yours expects before ordering. Collars, chain collars, and officer headwear are generally associated with a particular office rather than being a default purchase for every Sir Knight.

Regalia Accessories

Accessories cover jewels, protective cases, belts, and the pieces worn with a full uniform. We carry collar and collarette jewels (such as the Past Grand Commander officer collar jewel in gold metal), Commandery breast jewels, gloves, gauntlets and cuffs, regalia belts, apron belt extenders, swords and daggers, and sword holders in white leather with a red cross. For Grand-level uniforms we carry Grand rosette chapeaux, frock coat shoulder boards, and frock coat sleeve patches in bullion embroidery; these are intended for those who hold or have held that office. For storage, we carry apron cases, headwear cases, chain collar and jewel cases, sash cases, and sword cases, along with a white leather Commandery alms bag.

Commandery Supplies & Tools

For the Commandery rather than an individual Sir Knight, we carry banners and covers (including a Grand Encampment banner top in gold and red), banner hangers such as a teak wood hanger with gold chains, universal working tools such as a handcrafted black wood gavel, and batons such as a red Preceptor baton.

Apparel & Everyday Wear

Outside the Commandery, you can carry Templar symbolism day to day: tops, jackets, shorts, sneakers, neckties (such as a black necktie with Commandery machine embroidery), tie bars, bolo ties, cufflinks, belts, leather wallets, keychains, embroidered patches, a black cotton baseball cap, and sunglasses.

Jewelry & Watches

For personal jewelry rather than regalia, we carry rings (including a black tone ring with a red cross), lapel pins, bracelets, necklaces (such as a Jerusalem cross pendant), earrings, and pocket watches. For ring styles across all Masonic bodies, see our Masonic Rings guide.

Gifts & Home

Beyond regalia and apparel, we carry gifts and everyday items for Sir Knights and their families: home décor (LED signs, lamps, clocks, wall monograms, and flags), drinkware and barware (mugs, flasks, decanters, and coasters), office items (pens, journals, and business card holders), leather travel pieces (briefcases and luggage tags), collectibles and games (coins and chess sets), car accessories, and electronics such as speakers, USB flash drives, and wireless chargers. These work well for milestone gifts, such as a knighting, an anniversary of membership, or a retirement.

FAQs

Who can wear Knights Templar regalia?

Knights Templar is generally open to Master Masons who profess the Christian faith, with additional York Rite prerequisites that vary by jurisdiction. Regalia is intended for members of the body, so confirm your status and your Grand Commandery's rules. For Blue Lodge pieces, see our Blue Lodge Regalia.

What do I need as a newly knighted Sir Knight?

It depends on your Commandery, since uniform and regalia expectations vary by Grand Commandery. Check with your Commandery first. An apron and the headwear your Commandery specifies are common starting points, and collars and officer items are generally tied to a specific office.

What does "English Regulation" mean on some of your pieces?

Some items, such as the Past Preceptors collarette, the mantle, and the tunic, are listed as English Regulation, meaning they follow the English system rather than the U.S. Commandery system. If you are unsure which applies to you, confirm with your own body before ordering.

Do chapeau plumes, caps, and other headwear vary by rank?

They can, and the rules differ by jurisdiction. Examples from our range include a Line Officer chapeau with all-white plumes, a silver Sir Knight fatigue cap, and a black wool fez. Check your Grand Commandery's uniform requirements before ordering.

Are the Grand-level pieces for any Sir Knight?

No. Items such as the Grand rosette chapeau, frock coat shoulder boards, frock coat sleeve patches, and the Past Grand Commander collar jewel are intended for those who hold or have held Grand-level office.

Can I personalize my regalia?

Most products in this collection can be customized with your name, title, or other text through our Custom Orders option. Examples include the gold plated navigational compass with personalization and the handcrafted wood gavel with customization.

What cases and storage do you carry?

We carry apron cases, headwear cases, chain collar and jewel cases, sash cases, and sword cases, along with sword holders, so regalia can be stored and carried between meetings.

Do you carry everyday apparel and gifts, not just ceremonial regalia?

Yes. Beyond aprons, collars, and jewels, we carry tops, jackets, footwear, rings, drinkware, office items, home décor, and more, all featuring Knights Templar symbolism.

I'm not sure which pieces match my office or jurisdiction. Where should I start?

Start with your Commandery's expectations and the office you hold. Then contact us and we'll help point you to the right pieces.
